JANESVILLE, Wis. – First Congressional District candidate Bryan Steil’s campaign announced today that Steil has confirmed participation in three debates this fall. The debates will be hosted by independent media organizations, moderated by experienced journalists and held throughout the district:

  • Kenosha News, Racine Journal Times and Carthage College in Kenosha
  • WisconsinEye in Oak Creek
  • WCLO (1230 AM) and Janesville Gazette in Janesville

Steil campaign manager Brandon VerVelde said, “Bryan Steil is focused on the issues facing Southeast Wisconsin. Our campaign has accepted three debates across the district and offered multiple dates for those debates to accommodate our opponent’s schedule. We call on our opponent to accept these debates and explain how he plans to pay for his $32 trillion government takeover of health care. Voters will see a clear contrast between Bryan Steil’s Wisconsin Style Solutions and our opponents’ far-left agenda.”

Two weeks ago, the Steil campaign challenged Randy Bryce to three debates across Southeast Wisconsin.

The Janesville Gazette editorial board this weekend gave Steil a “thumbs up” for the debate challenge. They stated, “Their job now is to work out debate details to ensure they meet on neutral turf and enlist nonpartisan organizations to moderate the debates.”

Bryan Steil was born and raised in Janesville, Wisconsin. He is a member of the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents and has a strong background as a business leader. For the past nine years, Bryan has worked for manufacturing companies in Rock County and has learned the importance of fiscal discipline and risks of government red tape. Bryan is running for Congress to reduce government overreach and prepare our workforce for the jobs of the future.
