JANESVILLE, Wis. – First Congressional District candidate Bryan Steil’s campaign released the following statement today regarding New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s campaign appearance in Wisconsin for Randy Bryce.

Andrew Iverson, Steil Campaign Spokesman: “It is no surprise that another out-of-state liberal would come to Wisconsin to campaign for our opponent. Just like Mayor de Blasio, our opponent supports government-run healthcare, abolishing ICE and other out-of-touch, far-left policies that resonate on the East and West Coasts. Bryan Steil is focused on real solutions to the challenges facing Southeast Wisconsin. Bryan has a private sector background in manufacturing and a proven record of fighting tuition increases on the UW Board of Regents. In Congress, Bryan will work to create high wage jobs, reduce the cost of healthcare, and support affordable, high quality education.”

Bryan Steil was born and raised in Janesville, Wisconsin. He is a member of the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents and has a strong background as a business leader. For the past nine years, Bryan has worked for manufacturing companies in Rock County and has learned the importance of fiscal discipline and risks of government red tape. Bryan is running for Congress to reduce government overreach and prepare our workforce for the jobs of the future.
